Third Culture Kid: A person who has spent a significant part of their youth outside the home culture.

When theatre maker and performer Margo van de Linde was two years old she moved for the first time in her life. To Canada. And then she kept moving. To America, to England, to Spain. She now lives in her home country again. So why doesn’t it feel like home? The answer to that question is the starting point of this solo.

‘During the devising process I became gradually more aware that I have made of the theatre what I couldn’t find elsewhere. This borderless empty space is perfect. I know how to entertain my guests and create a sense of comfort. I know this culture and I speak this language. But what if I stop pretending? Remove these illusions of security? Play the unexpected? Stop playing altogether?’

Third Culture Kid is an absurd variety show that plays with expectation and is an open house to anyone who has ever felt homesick in their own home. Margo has appeared in Burlesque shows, performance theatre, comedy and children’s theatre…now you’ll see her from a different angle.
