Composer/Theatre-Artist John Moran has generally been considered the protege of composer Philip Glass. In 2003, Glass was quoted as saying, "I am convinced that there is no more important composer working today, than John Moran. His works have been so advanced as to be considered revolutionary."
His strange, and impossible to describe works of precision music-theatre have featured performers such as Uma Thurman, Iggy Pop, Allen Ginsberg and Julia Stiles. Hugely acclaimed, The Boston Globe has written, "Moran is a modern-day Mozart." Japanese-born dancer/gymnast Saori Tsukada has been described by The New York Times as, "...a performer of astonishing ability and precision." Since moving to New York from her native Tokyo 8 years ago, she has established herself as a leading figure in the NY dance scene, performing with Yoshiko Chuma, International Wow Co. and many others. Since a chance meeting on the street, she has been a constant collaborator of Mr. Moran since 2005.
John Moran...and his neighbour, Saori has developed a reputation for being impossible to classify. Techniques of music, dance and theatre are interwoven in such surprising directions, audiences generally find themselves unprepared. This simple, duet performance has been described as, "...a performance with true genius as its foundation." –Guardian UK, and "One of the most important and innovative works of the year." –New York Times. TimeOut has written, "With a one hour show, Moran has reaffirmed his reputation as one of the most important figures in the avant-garde."
